The set screws don’t press on the collet. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cspan style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003eThey press on the inner collet compression ring.\u003cspan style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003eThis uniformly adjusts small areas of the collet.\u003cspan style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003eThis allows you to compensate for spindle and collet error.\u003cspan style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003eYou see, the spindle will have a certain amount of error and so will any collet.\u003cspan style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003eWhen you put the collet in the spindle, you add error on top of error.\u003cspan style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003eThis is call stacking.\u003cspan style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003eYour new Absolute-Zero-ER nut is your solution for this.\u003cspan style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003eIt can compensate for that combined error (of course, if your spindle, part or cutter is too far out of whack, then you may still have some error…makes sense right?).\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eUses:\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 18.0pt; line-height: 107%;\"\u003eLathes\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eZero out the actual work piece for super accurate work\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eGreat where you must have absolutely the highest accuracy or small parts where you can’t afford to lose too much material\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 18.0pt; line-height: 107%;\"\u003eMills\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eWhen your end mills are dialed into Zero, your end mills will last longer.
